To the Earth teaches classes periodically throughout the year. While we are not currently offering a weekly class,
we offer individual instruction. If you'd like to join a class when we offer one,
email to be added to our mailing list - or to let us know what you'd like to learn in a workshop,
private lesson or small group session. Here are some of our offerings!
Fundamentals of Tribal Bellydance
Learn the core concepts of our style. Drawing heavily on Fat Chance Bellydance's American Tribal Style
basics and our own east coast adaptations, we'll introduce you to tribal movement, posture, and spirit. You'll learn
enough to begin leading & following simple tribal improvisations. Class is appropriate for any level, age (those under
18 need a guardian's permission) or gender.
Continuing Tribal Bellydance
For students with experience in our style or American Tribal Style. Expand your dance vocabulary with new movements for
solo and group work. Through this class, you'll build on the fundamentals as you integrate the elements of tribal style
bellydance - working through more complex improvisational choreography, cueing and movement. Zils (finger cymbals) are
required for this class. This class can introduce various topics based on the interest and
experience level of the dancers who sign up.
Tribal Drills
You know about leading and following, formations, and all the basic movements. But do you really have the moves
down? We'll drill and refine your technique using simple combinations. Dancers will drill at their level, with
individual guidance and challenges to help you become a better dancer and make you sweat just a little.
For current or prior students of any level, those with some tribal experience, or total beginners looking for a
challenge.
Your Very Own Private Bellydance Party
For groups of 5-20 people, To the Earth offers a watch-and-learn party.
We'll join you for an hour of your event for a
small performance and an introductory lesson in bellydance; we provide
the dancing; you provide the food, drink and fun.

Workshops
To the Earth is available for workshops anywhere you'd like us to come. Workshops can address a specific topic or give a general overview, for groups as small as 10 or as large as 40.

Private Instruction
Can't make it to class? Have an advanced or unique challenge you want to work on? We also offer individualized instruction, scheduled when you need it. Private lessons are $35/hr
per person. We can also customize a private lesson to your troupe's needs, at a reduced hourly rate: $55 for 2 people, $65 for 3, $80 for 4-6. Contact us to plan a private lesson.
